  • Binary Glitter

With this piece I am having fun with a play on words equating a bite of cake to a byte of code. Digital images are made up of a stream of numbers and letters which when pared back to its basic values will itself be made up of binary, the 0’s and 1’s which are the fabric of digital code. Therefore as crumbs drop from the cake they manifest in binary as digital particles (zero’s and ones’s laminated and cut into glitter) in the tray frame.

Medium: Printed photograph and binary glitter in a sealed tray frame (2010)
Dimensions: 54.5cm wide x 64cm high
