The mobile phone drawings are interesting as they are both digital by retaining a limited ‘screen’ colour palette and rendered pixellation from enlargement and drawn retaining the hands energy and process. The original images are approximately 2 inch square and were created on a 2003 Sony Ericsson p900 mobile phone. Whilst 21st century technology and in it’s time ahead of the field, the model itself could already be considered ‘retro’ when compared to an iPhone.
The three images here are from a series made between 2007 and 2010 during a regular yet brief train commute between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge in Kent.
I loved drawing on my mobile phone and created a blog to catalog the works made during the short commute between 2007 – 2010.
